The 2023 AGM was held at the National Film and Sound Archive on 11 November 2023, with delegates attending both in person and via Zoom.
The Year’s Achievements
- Published the “How to Start a Film Society in 60 Questions” guide, covering equipment, distributors, legal requirements and more for new and existing societies alike.
- Contacted every Australian film distributor to update contact details and confirm current film-society screening rates — since these now vary distributor to distributor, the results were published on the Where to Get Films page.
Committee
Gary Hovey from the Braidwood Film Club was welcomed as Vice President; all other committee members stayed in their roles, with Lynn Read becoming Public Officer.
